Surrogacy
What is an Embryo & How is it Created?
Surrogacy at Rajni Fertility Centre Hope. Carried with Love. Delivered with Care.
If you’re considering IVF surrogacy, you’re not alone — and you’re in the right hands. At Rajni Fertility Centre, we are proud to be one of the most trusted names in gestational surrogacy, offering hope to intended parents when carrying a pregnancy is not an option.
What is Surrogacy? Surrogacy is a method of assisted reproduction where a woman (the surrogate) carries and delivers a child for another individual or couple (the intended parents).
What is Gestational Surrogacy? In gestational surrogacy, the embryo is created using the egg of the intended mother (or donor) and sperm of the intended father (or donor) through IVF. This embryo is then transferred into the surrogate’s uterus, who carries the pregnancy to term.
The surrogate shares no genetic link with the baby. The child is biologically related to the intended parents.
Why Choose IVF Surrogacy? IVF surrogacy is an option when:
The woman cannot carry a pregnancy due to:
Uterine abnormalities
History of hysterectomy
Severe medical conditions (e.g., heart disease, diabetes)
Multiple unexplained miscarriages
Other ART methods have failed
Pregnancy could pose a health risk to the mother
For many couples, surrogacy is the path that allows them to have a biologically related child despite medical challenges.
The IVF Surrogacy Process Initial Assessments: Intended parents and surrogate undergo thorough medical and psychological screening.
Cycle Synchronization: The egg provider and surrogate synchronize their menstrual cycles using medications.
Egg Retrieval & Fertilization: Eggs are collected from the intended mother and fertilized with sperm in the lab to form embryos.
Embryo Transfer: A healthy embryo is transferred into the surrogate’s uterus.
Pregnancy Monitoring: The surrogate is monitored closely until 10–12 weeks, then referred to an obstetrician.
Delivery & Parenthood: Once the baby is born, they are handed over to their intended parents — fulfilling a dream.
Sometimes, embryos are created and frozen in advance, allowing flexibility in timing the transfer.
How Are Surrogates Selected? Surrogates are carefully screened to ensure physical and emotional readiness. Criteria typically include:
Aged 21–40 years
Non-smoker, no substance abuse
Healthy lifestyle
History of at least one uncomplicated pregnancy
Medical and psychological clearance
Some couples choose a surrogate through friends or family, while others opt for a reputable agency to guide them through legalities, selection, and support.
Legal & Emotional Support Surrogacy involves more than medicine. That’s why we ensure every step includes:
Legal guidance and proper documentation
Ethical practices
Psychological support for both surrogate and intended parents
